Water, water, water

One of the most basic needs for every living thing is water whether plant or animal. We all need water and it is quite unthinkable to realize that water could become and is already on its way to becoming a commodity to be bought, sold and controlled. Something so basic for survival to be controlled by a few. This article highlights some of the issues that we may be facing in our future when it comes to the availability of freshwater. The article also highlights for me how ridiculous it is to reshape the landscape of a particular area in such a way that it goes against the natural ecosystem ie turning an arid area into a fertile, lush landscape, placing farms that grow crops which need lots of water in an desert-like ecosystem. The article makes for interesting reading.
